The Locket Thief – a brand new story in the fantasy book genre
Trend Dash is not only a place where all the latest fashion trends meet, but also a place of culture. Recently, I’ve been writing about my favourite TV shows, movies and places. Today, I would like to tell you about the latest book I’ve read.
Not long ago, I purchased an e-book reader which lets me download thousands of books onto a single device. The e-reader was recommended to me by my younger sister, who literally eats books for breakfast, and who also suggested this new book to me. When looking for it in Amazon Kindle Store, I got immediately attracted to its cover; it’s as mysterious as the The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien or The Northern Lights by Philip Pullman – two of my favourite fantasy books!
So, I went ahead and bought it. Wow, what a purchase! The Locket Thief, written by Daniel Patrick, is the best fantasy book I’ve read in ages. It’s a story about a girl, called Lara DeLarose, who discovers some exciting secrets about the world of Sky Thieves, and one particular evil thief who’s on the hunt for a legendary locket. With the help of a few friends, Lara discovers that her precious talisman is the pendant he’s after.
The Locket Thief is great both for a younger audience (as a bed-time story) and also for adults. I’m the best example 😉
It would be great to see a screen adaptation of the story. I can imagine it having a bit of a ‘steampunk’ edge to it, like he films Hugo and The Golden Compass. I think it’d be great to see the main character, Lara DeLarose, played by Chloë Moretz (Kick-Ass), Captain Vaspine by Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings), Bucker Blake by Owen Best (Diary of Wimpy Kid) and Rosie by Nicole Kidman (Australia).
But all that’s for the future. For now, I strongly recommend it to anyone who’s into fantasy and to anyone who likes to be adventurous with what they read.
The Locket Thief can be purchased directly from Amazon Kindle Store
